I AM CURIOUS...

If you go to the VERY bottom of my postings--there is a survey I have concocted because...

well, because I COULD! --

while freshening up my page look--I noticed I could add page elements--and this looked kind of fun--but I didn't know it would be on the very bottom--

A Ferry Nice Day

THE OTHER DAY--Mae and I were driving around--seeing the sites :-) and we planned to take the little ferry across the Wicomico river to go to Foggy Bottom--a shop of neat stuff--It was about 1:20 pm and the ferry had no line--but wait ...the ferry was closed--Aha! I have the ferry information number in my phone--since last year--"Ferry is closed due to high tides--2 hour delay"

So we drive all the way around---beautiful day for a drive!

THE VERY NEXT DAY--5 pm--as I leave work in Fruitland I think--I am sure if I take the ferry--I'll only be 5 minutes later getting home--(the ferry is in the opposite direction of my usual route--which is to go through town and around in lots of traffic!!) Beautiful day--quite breezy but just lovely-- Get to the ferry--NO CARS--This is great!...but wait...the ferry is closed !!!??? You couldn't have high tide at 1:30 one day and at 5 the next ? I call the number--(are you wondering why I don't call this number BEFORE I drive all the way to the ferry?? I was!)

Ferry closed due to high winds. The water was rough and even the ditches on the side of the road leading up were full of water--Made for a nervous 3 point turn to go all the way back and around to my usual route home--

This past Tuesday I thought as I left work--it is a beautiful day--I'll try the ferry--I'm no dummy--I called the ferry number first! (Gomer Pyle always said--Fool me once--shame on you--fool me twice--shame on me!--well--it took me 3 times to learn the lesson)

a long wait behind a dozen cars(the ferry holds 3 at a time) That's okay--something about being out on the water for just a minute or two--being carried along under blue skies--windows open--just a lovely place to be.

I am so happy!--and so is Janie! I was told to go home early from work and there is NO choir tonight--So it's like getting extra time!! I feel like I am 12 and just got a SNOW DAY--even tho it was 3:30 when I got sent home--

AND------ I had made extra last night--so no cooking tonight either---

AND--last night was young adult Bible study so the house is kind of clean.

Plus I love snow--grew up in the Lake Erie snow belt--been away over 2 decades. I think I miss it alot--but probably I'm just like most old folks--if I lived with it all the time--I wouldn't be so nuts about it. But since I don't get it every day--wheeeee.

Buddies

What can I say?
I love these guys.

Sweet Mama

This was a bit before Christmas--some quality cookie time with Stacey, Bright and Krue.

This was Bright's decorating routine--over and over--Bright was the only one using the purple--and we didn't save the cookies to actually serve--but Linnea told us she used to do the same thing when I wasn't looking--therefore--I never knew (I should have guessed) --therefore--those cookies were---you know.

Before I forget

It is too late tonight to post more pics or videos--but THIS is what is new to the decorations this year--Jason brought it home--CHarlie Brown comes up out of the chimney and back down--It's not too big and Jared very wisely set it up close to the house and other lights--

Last week we were blessed with a real snow that stuck---

Krue and Pops Monday night out looking at our lights--Uncle Jared does a great job--not quite done yet--maybe a picture when we finish--we have something new this year--it's pretty neat----
ah--the suspense...

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

had more pictures but getting errors on blogger--arrrggghhhh.

WooHoo!

Bright the Spright! Perpetual Motion.

I started to fold up this big stretchy blanket and I got the brilliant grandma idea of making a tent between the 2 sofas--Bright sort of got the idea but Krue seemed to think it was a really cool hammock--they both had more fun On the tent, than In it.

2 peas in a pod

just noticed this as I was downloading a lot of pics from my card.

Oh

last bits of autumn

you know you are old if...

...You KNOW you took the striped apron off the hook just minutes ago but don't see it anywhere so you take the blue apron hanging and put it on.

Then you go about your business in the kitchen.

All Done..

untie and take off the blue apron----

What!!???? Under the Blue apron ....

The striped apron is tied on your body!!

Now, who put that there?!

p.s. That is Bright outside of our house last Christmas.

Vessey's Orchard

Guess what I did Saturday?
Funny thing--I took this picture to show how desolate and brown everything looked--so I didn't actually get any trees in it--and when I loaded it up I only saw the beautiful sky.

Mr. Vessey filling up cider bottles. After I asked for 1 gallon and 1 1/2 gallon--he went in to pour them up--and I took his picture through the screen door.
Mae and I picked 7 half bushels--it was a beautiful day.
