A tale of Morning Commute.

I left just a little late for work . That's okay--I can still make it--done it before!


Soon I approached a red light--all lanes already had 3 or more vehicles.


I needed to turn right--at the front of my lane was a cumbersome big truck (I usually avoid getting behind them at lights--they are slow out of the starting gate :-)


I thought--he is really big--he will go straight and not turn onto cramped mill street...


Wrong.


Thru next light and ...


He will go straight and not veer off to riverside the way I always go---no reason for him to go that way.


Wrong.

25 mph...mmmm... no passing here--


By this time I started noticing--he is really HIGH--He is clipping leaves off trees he is passing under.


Instead of being impatient--my usual response--I started to enjoy watching him go under trees.

Looking ahead for trees--watching leaves flutter down like October as he passes under.


I do need to get to work though so I am glad to turn left up here where I always turn left and get away from his slow self!!!


What?! HE is turning left??


What?! What?! He is turning left AND keeping to the right??!! NO big truck should ever go this way!!!!


OK Next turn I should lose him (Still clipping tree limbs to my amusement)

NOPE--turned my way again!!


About now I think-

I could post this--I wish I had a picture...


WAIT!!! MY wonderful little camera is in the front pocket of my purse--right there!! Next to me!! Don't even have to take my eyes off the road--I can just point and shoot..

HEY!!! A left turn signal!! 1 street before I have to turn left-didn't expect that-woohoo--byebye!

ahah!!!

As you can see--I figured out some of this on my own--
and now I have no time to post.

living the FAST life

I've heard that Life comes at you fast--

but Life seems to go past me fast.

2 weeks? Is it possible? The calendar says yes. 2 weeks ago, almost to the minute- the lovebirds were waiting out a downpour (with hail, even)--so they could try to find hidey-holes in the packed car for "a little this and that" and begin the flight to their new nest-

I was glad for the rain that day-

for one moment more. . .

My Front Room

Pictures are reversed--of course-- I thought I'd add a visual to my comment on seeing the carpet of my front room again.

not so interesting observation--Long before the romances started, during their respective moves to different riversides--I bought the china cabinet from the Taylors (Ben's family) and the cream couch from the Ogburns (Stacey's family).

Still not pristine--but I don't feel claustrophobic any more!!

THEN

This is only HALF of the room--yes--there was more!! This was taken the day Linnea and Ben were leaving for ND.--and the car was part-packed at this point.

If you look closely--Bright is in there somewhere!!

Gettin 'er done

Well, No picture this post--but you can actually see the carpet in my front room--The lovebirds have flown the coop and taken about a third of their stuff with them:) The other half is in or about to go in the attic and about 1/6 is in boxes--about 9--most big--all heavy!--ready to be taped and labeled--soon on the way to North Dakota. Whew--and a bit here and there of tulle and leftover wedding stuff--and my regular clutter that I would love to conquer.

While I think about it--does anybody out there know how to do the neat things with the posting set-up--neat headers and stuff--I'd love to jazz this baby up--but I have no idea--and not any patience to sift thru all the "help" files.

More to come--of what--I am not sure--but there will be more...

Oh , and I am ashamed of myself--how seldom I use my wonderful little camera--even at LIFE EVENTS---

Bright Plays"Twinkle"

For those who don't know--Bright's Uncle Ryan is a real deal pianist--I think she has picked up some of her "technique" from him.

Little Man Krue

A Cliche: He is growing like a weed! With all the wedding busy-ness--It was great to have a little break and babysit Bright and Krue this week. I have missed them --so I was a happy Grandma on Friday. When I look back at that April post--just 2 months ago--it is incredible how he has "grown up".

Aunt Linnea's Helper

Bright was a sweet helper at Aunt Linnea's shower. She had a really good time I think!

I love these sweeties.

No little brothers were harmed in the making of this picture.

My Funny Valentine

Krue is so sweet and makes some very entertaining faces. Bright is so active that It is hard for me to get her picture--Hannah took some good ones, though.

Since Hannah posted some pictures of Bright this week--I thought I would post some of Krue--

o my goodness

I had to add a random picture--blogs are more fun to read if there is a picture. This was a Sunday or 2 ago when Jared and Linnea came in my classroom to talk to me after Sunday School. (Look, Marianna! We can actually put stars and stuff on the walls--I still appreciate that!) For everyone else--in the old days we used to meet in a Christian School and had to cart stuff in every week and couldn't disturb the classrooms.

(This is the O my goodness part:)
I was just randomly clicking on blogs in my favorites and my dashboard came up--no password required or anything--just had to click "new post" Perhaps we are getting somewhere!!!

Oh yeah--I spent 30 minutes getting a verse in big letters on 4 pages to print on cardstock for my Sunday School Bulletin Board and of course I forgot to save it before printing--and of course during printing it was "not responding" and I had to end program and lost it all!!!!

So--good night!

the reason i post on my own blog with punctuation marks-- is that is the only way I can make a new post--
Linnea showed me if I comment--and then click on my name when the comment pops up and then Edit my profile and then go to Dashboard--I can actually post something new.
Some day I might wrestle with google help to figure out why it is so difficult for me to sign in and post....

Apologies---for some reason when my blog switched to something new--having to do with google--I could no longer get in to post new things. I still cannot get to JLW but Linnea showed me a round about convoluted way to get here to my create post page--She has the same problem as I do--you are supposed to sign in with google acct but that doesn't work for me for some reason--It may be the computer has a problem--I don't know--I have a google id etc--and I sign in--but I can't get anywhere after that.

Now I can't find where on the computer I put the pictures from my camera-- I'm a technoidiot!!!

He's Growing

Here is our little man, Krue--He is a very sweet boy-- Just had a check up--recovering from an ear infection and broncitis--13. something pounds I think(or was it 15?)--and I do remember 27 inches--off the height chart by a little.--4 months old Friday.
Bright came for a visit and was so busy--I hope I have more time ahead to post about that--It was so much fun--

Bright is bright.

She loves to do puzzles and "put together" kinds of toys. I was babysitting this night--with Grandpa:)

A Winter's Morning Mist

Well, I woke up this morning and first thing looking out the window--I saw this bare tree and FOG--It looked so dreamy--I popped on some shoes and a jacket and went out in my pj's to take pictures--I don't know why I messed with the date thing but some of my favorites have a date stuck on them--then I realized I should take it off. These were taken within minutes of eachother--but I guess the morning light was changing--because they all look different. I did not change any settings on the camera that I know of--but I might have--I am still learning. the last ones I took (there are more I didn't post) have a white "jet" streak across the sky--

The day turned out to be very clear and bright--beautiful!

Krue was smiling at his mama--Boy do I need practice with the camera--for a while--there will be more pictures of Krue--than Bright--She is always on the move and is a blur of the back of her head--most of the time--
 

Christmas time

Bright was getting a little sleepy on Christmas--Time to go home and take a nap--Cute little backpack--gift from Aunt Hannah.

My dear and generous and thoughtful children--Hannah, Patrick, Jared, Jack, Stacey, Linnea and dearest husband Jason----

gave me a sweet, and cute and hip digital camera--a RED Casio Exilim--

MY VERY OWN CAMERA!!! WOOHOO. FUN CITY!!
The last camera I personally owned was a 110 in college--It bit the dust decades ago.--and Jason and I had a few years use of a 35 mm in the 80's Since then--we have always used disposable or borrowed Jared's or Linnea's.

There'll be no stopping me now!!!
